Palm Springs, California is a world renowned desert
resort city, an hour and a half west of Los Angeles and a four hour
drive east of Phoenix. Popular for the many spectacular golf courses
nearby, Palm Springs is also known for being home to Presidents
and Hollywood Stars, and has been called the "Playground of
the Stars".

Stars have included Bob Hope, Elvis Presley,
Kirk Douglas, Jack Benny, Sonny Bono, Howard Hughes, Natalie Wood,
Robert Wagner, Al Jolson, Cary Grant, Steve McQueen, Liberace, Debbie
Reynolds, Lucille Ball, Greta Garbo, Desi Arnaz, Cher, Frank Sinatra
and Dean Martin.
It
has also been both playground and meeting place for President Gerald
Ford who made nearby Rancho Mirage his home. Presidents Kennedy,
Eisenhower, Reagan, Nixon, Clinton, and George & GW Bush have
all been visitors to Palm Springs. Even President Herbert Hoover
came to nearby La Quinta in 1936 and stayed at the Desert Inn while
visiting his friend. President Franklin D. Roosevelt had stayed
in La Quinta before the war. President Lyndon Johnson chose Palm
Springs as a meeting place for a meeting with Mexico's President
in the 1950's.
The majestic mountain peak, Mount San Jacinto, it's
eastern base adjacent to downtown, towers 10,000+ feet bringing
early afternoon shade to downtown Palm Springs. There is so much
to do in Palm Springs and the surrounding areas. The Palm Springs
Aerial Tram, the Indian Canyons, and the various Palm Springs Museums
should be a must on anyone's "to do" list.
